Wayne County Man Charged in Capitol Riot

Another area man is facing charges connected to the January 6 Capitol riot.

Fifty-five-year-old James Weeks, of Sodus, was arrested last week by the FBI in Albany.

He is accused of assaulting a Metropolitan Police officer and inciting the rioters to break a window and enter the Capitol.

The charges include civil disorder and assaulting or impeding officers -- both felonies.

Some of the misdemeanors include destruction of government property, and aiding and abetting, entering, and remaining in a restricted building.
