State Supreme Court Formally Dismisses Krauseneck Murder Conviction

Last year's murder conviction of James Krauseneck in the killing of his wife 41 years ago has been dismissed by a state Supreme Court judge.

Krauseneck died in prison back in May, and had an appeal of his conviction pending.

State law requires the original indictment to be thrown out in such cases and his conviction reversed.

Krauseneck's family continued the appeal, in order to clear his name, but that appeal was dismissed in July.

Lawyers for the Krauseneck family have said they'll appeal that ruling to the state's highest court.
