Rochester Parolee Convicted in Rialto St. Homicide

A Rochester parolee charged in two murders has now been convicted in one of them.

28-year-old Tyrone Jiggets Jr. was convicted of 2nd-degree murder in the shooting death of Juan Pena-Mendez in February of last year, as the victim sat in a car in a driveway on Rialto Street.

Jiggets was on parole at the time from a prior gun crime.

Jiggets is also accused of shooting and killing Luis Morales and wounding two other men in January of last year on North Clinton Avenue.

That case resulted in a hung jury, and will be retried later.
