UPDATE: Rochester Man Dies of Wounds in North Side Shooting

UPDATE: Rochester police say a Rochester man shot on the city's north side earlier this week has died of his injuries.

They say 48-year-old Derrick Ellis was shot in the upper body while on a porch at a home on Diringer Place, near North Goodman Street, late Tuesday night.

Ellis was rushed to Strong Hospital, but died of his wounds last night.

Police say he is a city resident, but did not live at the home where he was shot.

Ellis is the 43rd homicide victim in the city so far this year.

A 48-year-old Rochester man is hospitalized with life-threatening wounds from a shooting on the city's north side.

It happened after 9 last night at a home near the corner of Diringer Place and North Goodman Street.

Police are still investigating the shooting and are asking you to call 9-1-1 with any information that could help.
