Nurses at Rochester General Hospital Set to Strike Starting Thursday

Rochester Regional Health says it is disappointed the nurses union at Rochester General Hospital has called a 48-hour strike, beginning Thursday morning at 7 a.m.

The health system says it doesn't believe anything it has done at the bargaining table warrants a strike.

And the statement says the hospital is "fully prepared," and has contracted a firm to bring in replacement nurses who have been trained on the hospital's systems.

The hospital says patients with scheduled procedures, tests, or exams should plan on showing up as scheduled, and the Emergency Department is prepared, too.
