PAB Seeks Comment on Right to Know Proposal

Rochester's Police Accountability Board is seeking public comment on its Right to Know proposal.

The PAB says it's modeled after similar guidelines set up in Buffalo and Syracuse.

It would require officers to disclose names and badge numbers on request, except for undercover officers and in other special circumstances.

The proposal would also mandate data collection for all police stops, not just those that result in searches.

Comments are being taken until August 17th.

Read the proposal here.
