Senator Schumer is pushing for the Rochester area to anchor the nation's first "green hydrogen" hub.
Schumer says it's because Rochester has everything needed to get things up and running.
Schumer has written the nation's energy secretary, seeking one-and-a-quarter billion dollars in federal funding.
He says the Northeast Hub would involve 7 states and over 100 partners, with Rochester in the center, creating thousands of clean energy jobs.
