Monroe County Approves Funding for 41 Deputy Sheriffs for Road Patrol

The Monroe County Legislature has approved funding for the sheriff's office that will add 41 deputies to the road patrol.

The funds will also establish a Regional Investigative Operations Center that will allow greater collaboration between area law enforcement agencies.

Lawmakers also approved using American Rescue Plan money for local EMS and fire agencies.

The news release from the Republican majority that announced the votes also called out Democrats in the Legislature for attempting to block the votes.

Majority Leader Steve Brew called the opponents "anti- responder Democrat Legislators."
