Teens Charged After Deputy's Cruiser Hit

Three cars drove recklessly through the parking lot of a Henrietta apartment complex early this morning, and one of them smashed into a deputy's patrol car.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says a witness saw a person break into a car in the parking lot of the apartments on Commons Way and called 911.

Deputies arrived to find the three vehicles speeding through the parking lot and taking off in different directions.

The deputy followed the car that struck his while State Police were called to pursue the other cars.

Deputies and troopers stopped the striking car on Route 490, where they found a 13-year-old was driving.

Three teenagers were detained: the 13-year-old, plus a 16- and 17-year-old.

All are now facing various charges including possession of stolen property and reckless endangerment.
