Town of Sweden Considering Opting Out of Sale of Recreational Marijuana

The Town of Sweden is considering opting out of the state law that will soon allow the legal sale of recreational marijuana.

Opting out would mean dispensaries wouldn't be allowed in the town, and that the town won't get tax revenue from the sales.

Towns that want to opt-out must do so by the end of December.

The Town Board heard arguments for and against the idea at a hearing last night.

Shop owners in the Village of Brockport want the board to allow the dispensaries.
