Rochester Police Arrest 30 Protesters Overnight

Rochester police say they arrested 30 people overnight during a protest of the city's emergency ban on large gatherings.

The arrests began around 2 a.m. at Martin Luther King Park after some in the crowd refused repeated orders to leave.

The protest began shortly before 11 at the park. Protesters marched to East and Alexander then returned.

No one was hurt and police say no force was used during any arrests.

Mayor Warren imposed the ban to curb the huge parties that have led in recent weeks to numerous shootings and stabbings.

Violating the ban is a misdemeanor.
