Two County Tractor Trailer Chase Ends In Driver Death

Authorities are still sorting out why a tractor trailer driver led police on a wild chase through two counties, ending with his death in Geneseo.

During the chase, the driver tried to ram oncoming vehicles and fired shots at police -- but no civilians or officers were hurt.

Livingston County Sheriff Tom Dougherty says began when the man pulled away from a traffic stop in LeRoy -- but it's not clear why.

The chase entered Livingston County and continued up and down I-390, with several U-turns along the way.

It ended near the Applebee's on Route 20A in Geneseo when officers fired a number of shots at the driver. The driver was killed.
