Cause Of Fire At Greece Recycling Facility Under Investigation

Investigators are looking into what caused a fire at a recycling facility in Greece this morning.

The fire broke out at the J.C. Fibers plant on Mt. Read Boulevard at about 10:30. Firefighters said flames and smoke were coming from the side of the building when they arrived at the document shredding and recycling center. An excavator parked beside the building and recycled materials were on fire.

The excavator was a total loss, but damage to the building was minor. It took four-and-a-half hours to extinguish the fire. Nobody was reported hurt.
