Monroe County Legislator Rachel Barnhart is urging the Wegmans chain to allow workers in its stores to wear masks and gloves.
She says she was told by worried employees that they are forbidden by store policy from wearing the protective items.
She says Wegmans shouldn't have to supply the gear, but should allow its workers to wear their own.
Wegmans says it will have a statement on the issue this afternoon (at 2 p.m.).
