Correction Officer At The Wayne County Jails Tests Positive For COVID-19

A corrections officer at the Wayne County jail has tested positive for the coronavirus.

24 other correction officers are being monitored by the health department and have been furloughed.

The jail is now operating on 12 hour emergency operation shifts.

The female inmates have been moved to Ontario County.

The Sheriff's Office says no other jail workers or inmates have shown any symptoms of the virus.
