Updated Numbers of Monroe County, Ontario County Coronavirus Cases

Monroe County is confirming eight new coronavirus cases overnight bringing the total number of cases to 30.

Eight people are hospitalized. The health department tested 6 people today (Thurs)..

The patients so far are:

-1 Male in his 20s

-2 Females in their 20s

-1 Male in his 30s

-1 Female in her 30s

-1 Male in his 40s

-2 Females in their 40s

-5 Males in their 50s

-2 Females in their 50s

-4 Males in their 60s

-3 Females in their 60s

-3 Males in their 70s

-1 Female in her 70s

-2 Males in their 80s

-2 Females in their 80s

Monroe Co. Public Health Comissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza says right now there is a shortage in tests and the resources needed to process these tests. Mendoza says this is an ever changing situation and there could be different circumstances regarding testing in just a matter of days.

Officials have placed 195 people into mandatory quarantine.

Ontario County confirms it now has three confirmed cases of the coronavirus...one of them a middle school student. Ontario County Health Director Mary Beer says the first case was acquired through travel; the other two were community transmission.

Beer says in a statement that the student attended Canandaigua Middle School. The teen is recovering and feeling better, but Beer says all community members and parents with children in Canandaigua Middle School should be alert to the COVID-19 symptoms of cough, fever and shortness of breath.
