Number of Confirmed Coronavirus Cases in NYS now at 44

Governor Cuomo says the state now has 44 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

He calls this a good step for the process, saying having additional data makes it easier for disease detectives to track the spread of the disease.

Governor Cuomo has continued to ask people to say calm, and says the biggest risk continues to be for senior citizens, or those with compromised immune systems.

The latest announcement includes eleven new cases. Eight of those are in Westchester County, which appears to be the main source of the state's outbreak. Three are on Long Island, in Nassau County.
