The State University of New York at New Paltz says a student from Rochester has died after falling 150 feet in a park in Kingston.
Katherine Vollmer had transferred from MCC to SUNY New Paltz this fall.
Police say the accident happened in Kingston's Hasbrouck Park, which has a number of trails and cliffs.
Vollmer's group got lost in the dark, and Vollmer slipped and fell from the edge of a cliff.
