Rochester firefighters say no one was hurt in a fire after midnight at an apartment house at 251 Parkway, on the city's northwest side.
The fire spread through the stairwell to the second floor, but not before one of the tenants was able to alert the others
The Red Cross is assisting three adults and eight children.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The address is just a few blocks from the scene of a kitchen fire, a few hours earlier, on Montrose Street. No one was injured
