Vincent Manillo of Greece has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty in a deadly hit-and-run a year ago.
Manillo will serve eight weekends in jail -- and probation -- for the death of 87-year-old Joan Dierna last November on Bay View Road in Irondequoit.
Authorities say she was crossing the road to get to her mailbox when she was hit and killed by a truck that didn't stop. Manillo pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide.
He said a door on a dumpster he was towing had a damaged hinge and swung open, hitting Dierna as he drove past.
