Rochester Police have charged 28-year-old Keith Williams in the knife attack on Officer Denny Wright on Peck Street.
Williams is charged with attempted aggravated murder and aggravated assault on a police officer. The complaint states that Williams punched Officer Wright in the face then repeatedly stabbed him about his face, left eye and lower body, causing severe injuries. The case will also go before a Monroe County Grand Jury, which may bring additional charges.
Officer Wright remains in serious condition at Rochester General Hospital.
