State Comptroller To Begin RCSD Audit

Auditors from State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli's office are beginning work this week to sort out the spending mess in the Rochester City School District.

The district exceeded its budget in the last fiscal year by more than $30 million.

The overspending was uncovered two weeks ago, but its not clear where the money went, or why it wasn't revealed sooner.

The State Attorney General’s office is monitoring the investigation.

The Comptroller’s audit is expected to take two or three months.
