Fire hit an auto repair shop on Dewey Avenue Thursday.
The Rochester Fire Department says units arrived at Dewey and Ridgeway Avenue to find a large amount of smoke coming from the garage and two vehicles on the lifts inside. Crews used multiple dry chemical extinguishers instead of water to fight the fire. They say it was dangerous because of the many flammable substances in the shop.
The two cars being worked on were heavily damaged, but damage to the building was minor.
