Mayor Warren Won't Back Assemblyman's Rochester School Reform Plan

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren says she can't support Assemblyman Bronson's reform plan for the city schools.

She says from talking to numerous parents and students, she knows the city schools are ready for a "total reset." And she says the Bronson plan is a band-aid that doesn’t grant the school district anything it doesn’t already have the power to do. Warren says the Bronson legislation would put special interests in control of the city schools.

Warren says her plan for a referendum on a possible state takeover of the city school district is the better plan, because it speaks to the needs of students. She says the Bronson plan doesn't.
