CDC Says Number of Measles Cases are Growing

Concerns about the measles outbreak are growing. The CDC says the number has hit 839 over 23 states.

Seventy-five new cases have been reported in the past week. The highly contagious and potentially deadly illness was declared eliminated in the year 2000.

New York has more than 270 cases, the highest number among the 23 affected states. Federal health officials continue calling on parents to get their children vaccinated and have repeatedly called the measles vaccine safe and effective.
