Man Sentenced for Deadly Baseball Bat Beating

A man convicted in a deadly baseball bat beating in Rochester has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Jimmie Wright was convicted in March on a first-degree manslaughter charge.

He was accused of striking Jean Mejias-Vargas in the head with the bat last June at an address on Joseph Avenue. Mejias-Vargas died weeks later at the hospital.
