Rochester Police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting and robbery earlier this month.
Police say on April 12th, Matthew Williams walked into the Clinton Avenue Smoke Shop on North Clinton Avenue, robbed the store and shot the clerk working behind the counter. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Williams, a parole absconder, was arrested on April 26th with the help of Rochester Area Major Crimes Task Force, the U.S. Marshals, State Police and State Division of Parole.
Williams is charged with robbery, assault and grand larceny among other charges.
