Area law enforcement agencies will be watching closely Saturday for people driving under the influence of marijuana.
April 20th has come to be known around the world as 4/20 or "Weed Day", based on a reference to the use of marijuana.
According to traffic safety officials, an analysis of 25 years of data found a 12 percent increase in the risk of fatal motor vehicle crashes between 4:20 p.m. and midnight on April 20th. The risk was even higher for drivers under age 21.
