Man Charged in Sodus Double Homicide Made Court Appearance Today

A Wayne County judge is expected to rule April 3 on evidence in the case of a former Texas police chief facing trial for a double homicide.

Timothy Dean is accused of killing his wife's ex, Josh Niles and Niles' girlfriend Amber Washburn, last fall in Sodus.

At issue are the statements Dean made during a three-hour interrogation after his arrest in Texas. The defense says a Texas Ranger yelled at Dean, and the questioning continued even after Dean said he wanted a lawyer.

Dean and his wife Charlene Childers are facing murder charges.
