Would-Be Arsonist Sentenced to Prison Term

A Webster man has been sentenced to 11 years in New York State Prison after he tried to rig a condemned apartment building to go up in flames. The Monroe County District Attorney's Office says 54-year-old Eric Neil Reynolds pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said a strong odor of gasoline was detected coming from the building at 401 Ridgeway on May 15th of 2017 Rochester firefighters and police arrived, and they found four explosive devices plus buckets of gasoline inside. Two of the devices had exploded but failed to ignite the gasoline.

DA Sandra Doorley says Reynolds chose to put the community at risk but will how have plenty of time to think about his actions.
