Monroe County Legislature to Vote on 2019 County Budget

The Monroe County Legislature meets tonight to vote on the 2019 County Budget. At several public events last month, County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo stressed how her proposed $1.23 billion spending plan could support economic development and the needs of families. But Democrats said last week the expected revenue growth won't be enough to solve staffing shortages for Child Protective Services or Early Intervention Services.

Dinolfo is proposing a cut in the property tax rate from $8.99 to $8.89, though the total revenue collected will rise by more than $11 million.
