Geneva Man Charged With Animal Cruelty

A Geneva man is accused of leaving a dog on the side of the road. James Kemp, 51, was arrested and charged with animal abandonment. The Ontario County Humane Society says an off duty Ontario County Sheriff’s Office lieutenant noticed Kemp acting suspiciously near the east side of Carter Road. Kemp allegedly opened the door of his car and releasing a brown Pit Bull from the vehicle and drove away. Investigators say Kemp claimed he was taking the dog back to the area he was found a couple weeks earlier hoping his owner would find him. The dog named Max is currently at the Ontario County Humane Society and will be placed up for adoption. Kemp will appear in Geneva Town Court at a later date.
