Suspended Rochester Judge Leticia Astacio was in court this afternoon for her arraignment on a charge she illegally tried to buy a weapon. She pleaded not guilty and was released on her own recognizance.
She was indicted last month on a felony charge stemming from an attempt to buy a shotgun in April at Dick's Sporting Goods in Henrietta.
She has been on probation for two years since her DWI conviction.
The state Court of Appeals, meantime, is considering whether to affirm her removal from the bench for her conduct and repeated probation violations. She has argued she should be censured, not removed.
