RPD Chief Michael Ciminelli Leaves for New Job in Washington D.C.

Rochester Police Chief Michael Ciminelli has left the department for his new job in Washington, D.C. He said his goodbyes in a statement over the weekend. 

He thanked the community for its support, and he said he was grateful to have been able to serve in his hometown. 

Deputy Chief Mark Simmons has taken over as interim chief. 

Ciminelli will be starting work as the head of compliance at the Drug Enforcement Administration.
