Monroe County Democratic Party Chair Jamie Romeo has won the three-way party primary in the 136th Assembly District. She defeated Rochester NOW Chapter President Jaclyn Richard and former journalist Todd Grady.
Romeo won't face a Republican in November, and will succeed longtime Assemblyman Joe Morelle.
The district includes Irondequoit, Brighton and the eastern edge of the city of Rochester.
Meantime, longtime Rochester Assemblyman David Gantt has defeated Ann Lewis in the primary in the 137th District.
