Rochester City Council to Vote on Donation of Former Midtown Plaza Monorail

The Rochester City Council could vote tonight on the plan to donate the former Midtown Plaza Monorail to the New York Museum of Transportation in Rush.

The monorail was a holiday season ride for kids at the old mall and has been in storage since the mall was torn down nearly ten years ago. The museum wants to put some of the cars on display, possibly by Christmas.

In other business, the Council is expected to vote on the plan to tear down and rebuild the Cobbs Hill Village apartment complex. The 60 apartments would be replaced with more than 100 apartments and townhouses. Some current tenants are suing to block the redevelopment.
