Rochester Police Make Wish Come True For 10-Year-Old Boy

Rochester had a new police chief on Thursday. Jason Symonds was sworn in by Rochester Police Chief Michael Ciminelli. He is 11-years-old and a student at Clyde-Savannah. The ceremony was made possible by Make a Wish Foundation. Symonds was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia. His day on the job included training with the SWAT team and a visit to the mounted patrol, time with K9s and trying on night vision glasses. He also got onto a boat and helicopter during his term as chief. He gets to keep the badge and uniform.
