UR Professors Resign Following UR's Handling of Harassment Allegations

Two University of Rochester professors are resigning over the university's handling of the sexual harassment allegations against faculty member Florian Jaeger.

Associate professor Celeste Kidd and colleague Steven Piantadosi submitted their resignations this week. Kidd was a Time magazine Person of the Year and was one of seven colleagues who filed an EEOC complaint against  the university.

Jaeger was accused of sexual harassment, but was found not to have broken the law or violated university policy. In their letter, Kidd and Piantadosi says they are not angry or bitter, but they are sad -- in their words -- "that students at the University of Rochester have no one in the administration who will support them."
