Submission for Art Exhibit Accidentally Sent to Mary Cariola Center

Rochester police say the suspicious package that caused a bomb scare yesterday at the Mary Cariola School on East Henrietta Road was a submission for a Rochester art exhibit that went to the wrong address.

The wooden box contained homemade electrical components, with a power source, switches, lights and a circuit board. But police say it was not an explosive hazard.

It was a piece called "Baby Go Boom" by an artist/sculptor in New Orleans and was supposed to be delivered to a private home in the city with a similar address. Police don't expect to file charges.
