Blue Green Algae Blooms Spotted on Conesus Lake

The Livingston County health department says harmful blue green algae blooms have been spotted again on Conesus Lake.

The blooms are in several locations along the north and east shorelines.

The calmer, warm weather is believed to be contributing to their growth. Contact with the algae may result in itching, rashes, fever, headache, upper respiratory symptoms, vomiting and diarrhea.

The public water supply is safe for drinking.
