Canandaigua, N.Y. - The Canandaigua woman who admitted to police she cut up her husband's decomposing body and tried to burn it has rejected a plea offer that would have avoided a trial.
Under the proposed deal, Rose Chase would have served 20 years to life in prison in exchange for a guilty plea to all charges.
In a brief court appearance in Canandaigua Tuesday, her attorney said she will go to trial.
A trial date has been set for October 7 in Ontario County Court.
