Darren Manzella was killed while trying to push his disabled car off the expressway after a sideswiping accident. He was hit by an SUV and pinned between the two vehicles.
Sergeant Manzella was serving in Iraq when he he said on "60 Minutes" that he was gay. That meant his discharge under the old "Don't ask - Don't tell" policy then in effect.
